VAMPIRES, DEMONS AND JACKASS STYLE FIGHTING IN HAMILTON - SCI-FI TAKES OVER MAUSOLEUM

Filming on Night is Day series 2 kicked off again on the 23rd and 24th of August as we set off to Charles Ferguson’s Solicitor’s in Hamilton’s high street to film a flashback sequence between CS McDonald (Jessica Taylor), DCI Sloan (John Gaffney) and Inspector Mullan (Steven McEwan). We learn how Sloan was assigned as Mullan’s partner for the first time.
Once that scene was wrapped it was time for Boyd (Gary Lawson), Tara (Lauren C Moore), Lexi (Nicki Fleming) and Jason (Chris Summers) to do battle in an office! With fight co-ordination helped by Carter Ferguson (who is the fight director on Taggart as well as numerous other TV, film and theatre projects), we trashed the office.

Filming wrapped at 9.30pm and the long day tired us out - especially once Gary threw Chris over a table on to the crashmat behind it, and then threw a computer at his head!
On Sunday we started early and went to the forest next to the Hamilton Mausoleum to film the opening scene of series 2. Eileen Young, who plays the kick-ass guru Sakura, is seen in her domain when the camera sneaks up on her, and she turns around to tell the world of Jason and the good that he has done.
Once we filmed that scene we were off to film a fight scene between Lexi and Tara, once again co-ordinated by Carter. It was time for a break until Chris arrived, ready to get straight into it, we filmed the second encounter between Tara, Boyd, Lexi and Jason which leads to a fight between Jason and Boyd.
Episode 4 is just one scene away from being wrapped as we managed to film the opening scene where Lexi sees Jason for the first time. We went to the beautiful Hamilton Mausoleum and filmed a scene where Jason is fending off thugs (Crawford Young and Kai Young…no relation!) and she watches with delight.
Filming kicks off yet again on the 6th and 7th of September as we plan to film scenes from episodes 3, 5 and 6.
Keep an eye on the blog as we will soon be releasing an exclusive teaser trailer for series 2 which stars Chris Summers, Steven McEwan, Eileen Young, Anna Walseth, Tam Toye, John Gaffney and a guest starring role from Taggart’s Colin McCredie.
