LIGHTS, CAMERA…3 DAYS TO GO! SCI-FI INVADES GLASGOW

With just 3 days to go before filming officially starts on series 2 of “Night is Day” we have a few more updates for you who are keeping an eye on the site and news!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Lauren Moore, a Scottish actress, filming two scenes for her upcoming show-reel and Lauren was kind enough to accept the part of Tara in episode 4. Tara is a super-powered villain-for-hire with the ability to stop people’s hearts just by pointing at them, proving to be a handful for Jason who very much needs his heart to beat!

In a slight cast shakeup John Gaffney who originally signed on to play Caitlyn’s dad in episode 5 has now accepted the part of DCI Sloan and will appear in 3 episodes out of the 7. Unfortunately Colin Ferugson who played DCI Sloan in series 1 has had to pull out from the series and we wish him all the best of luck in his career. However John is a fantastic actor and we know he’ll pull out the stops to play Mullan’s partner and mentor.

Also leaving us this year is Mark Harvey who played twins Stevie and Frank last year. We wish Mark all the best of luck in his career. Worry not though as we have plenty of new characters this year to keep Jason, Mullan and Mr. Philips busy!

Joining myself again this year is our excellent makeup artist Suzy Maxwell from Falkirk, Andrew Caldwell and Mark Burns who provide our special effects and Steve Dunster returns to bring the series to life with his wonderful musical talents. Eileen Young who played Sakura in episode 6 last year returns as a supporting character, with her husband Kai producing series 2. David McKeitch is our sound recordist this year, joining Matt Stephens from Dunfermline who is our camera operator and assistant director.

Elizabeth Freer is our production co-ordinator this year, joined by Murdo McLeod and Laura Blackhirst as our production assistants and Michelle Tierny will be working as our camera assistant.

Despite our cast shakeup, we’ve got a few familiar faces lined up to return during this series so keep an eye out for them!

This year is going to be bigger and better as we are pushing the boundaries on our low budget drama series!

Expect a set-report on Sunday night!
